| Riverfront flood repair - New Hope |
The Delaware river has recently seen three great floods, Hurricane Ivan Sept. 04 and in April of 05 it was just alot of rain,and then again in June of 06. The first reconstruction of this first floor and kitchen, the water was 3' deep. The second flood destroyed all of my work just 10 days after occupancy and that water was 7 ' deep. The third flood had destroyed this work, and as we all know the third time is always a charm. We made serious changes and elevated the mechanical components as well as chose different building materials that might withstand. So far the river has remained cooperative. What a nice location to work .

CLICK ON BOTH IMAGES FOR ZOOM -----In Riverside New Jersey, the Hovnanian Corporation was planning for 250 condominiums, this turn of the last century building was in the way, the community asked the developer to remove and reuse the architectural elements of the old mill building in their new construction, and I got the call. It was a cold group of days doing this job but once underway i was appreciative of the men who once built it. Five stories up,remove it,lower it, pack it. These terra cotta blocks were each handmade locally 114 years ago. Architecture lost again ! ! Yo Riverside- want it back ?? check in !!!
